Hurricane Harvey has torn through the city of Houston, leaving a trail of destruction in its path. Whilst the entire world watches on, the people living in the city are needing help more than ever – and here is just another way we can all help.
The estimated cost of damage from Harvey has been projected to be around $190 billion, surpassing Hurricane Katrina.
George Kiel III, founder of the Kiel Colon Cancer Foundation, is organizing the “SHOU” drive on September 30th with one goal – to be the biggest shoe drive in history for the benefit of those affected in the Greater Houston area.
The SHOU drive is accepting new and lightly worn sneakers throughout this month of September, with drop-off locations in Portland, L.A., Dallas, Houston and Austin. But if you’re not in any of these locations, you can mail the shoes in as well. Full info can be found here on the SHOU drive website.
