Jordan Brand is set to bring back the iconic Air Jordan 13 He Got Game for its fourth release for the 2018 Spring/Summer lineup.
This is one of the only OG’s to be made more famous by someone other than Michael, where it received its nickname and notoriety from Spike Lee’s classic basketball film He Got Game.
This Air Jordan XIII colorway originally released in 1997 – the only Jordan 13 to release that year, with the others releasing in 1998 – it makes this colorway even more iconic. it made it’s first return in 2008, again in 2013 and once more for 2018. With all these retros pairs with the cult following of SPike’s classic film, it’s safe to say that this is and will forever be a Jordanhead favorite.
For those of you unaware (or were too young to recall) of the “He Got Game” reference, Jake Shuttlesworth (played by Denzel Washington), a prison inmate, gets sent on a mission to convince his son (Ray Allen), a star High School basketball player, to play for the warden’s alma mater in exchange for a shorter sentence. One iconic scene of the film features Jake shopping for a pair of kicks, and without hesitation, he requests the new Air Jordans to which he is presented with the now classic Air Jordan XIII colorway.
You can peep the scene below, as well as a look at the 2013 release! Stay tuned for the official images and further news on these right here on the House of Heat!
