It’s been a long time coming.
Finally, Tha Carter V is releasing.
After a very, very, very drawn-out legal battle between Lil Wayne and Birdman, the two Hip-Hop icons finally settled on an agreement. That agreement allowed Lil Wayne to be freed of his Cash Money contract, now allowing him to release the long awaited album.
Weezy finally announced a release date 12th studio album, Tha Carter V, via a special announcement video.
“I heard there was a misunderstanding about the release date of the C 5. I heard y’all got mixed up and thought it was gonna get released like last week or something. Well, I would like for you to know that since y’all stuck with me and hung in there anyway for like the past four or five years through all of this but uh on my birthday, I actually have something special. I will be releasing Tha Carter V on my birthday,” he said.
The LP is scheduled to arrive Friday, September 28, in conjunction with Wayne’s 36th birthday, which takes place this Thursday, September 27.
