Joel Embiid Signs a Five-Year Deal With Under Armour

This is big.

Under Armour has landed the big man with a huge personality personality — and and even bigger opportunity in terms of marketability — by signing Philadelphia 76ers big man, Joel Embiid to a five-year deal.

The deal is set to make Embiid the highest paid center in the NBA.

The deal will include custom footwear, along with his own footwear and apparel line in the near future.

Although Joel received lucrative offers from PUMA and New Balance, Embiid decided on the Baltimore-based brand for its resources, their ability to make custom-made kicks, and the company’s dedication to charitable commitments which ultimately helped him make his decision.

“This is about more than just shoes. This is about more than just basketball. Today, I’m joining the Under Armour family, but I’m not trying to sell you sneakers right now,” said Embiid.

Embiid made sure that the deal included charitable initiatives in Philadelphia and Cameroon — the two places in the world he holds closes to his heart.
