This adidas Superstar Is for Everyone "Lone Star Reppin'"

Active Athlete has been delivering the best in streetwear and sneakers to Houston and the greater area since 1988. Now in its 38th year of operating, the retailer and community outpost is getting another adidas Originals collaboration.

Dubbed "Lone Star Reppin'," the project reimagines the iconic adidas Superstar through the lens of Texas culture and style. Founder Paul Seernani and company have timed the launch of their "shell-toe" around Rodeo Season, home to the world’s largest livestock show and rodeo. Thus, the shoe captures the local enduring spirit while also championing the broader culture of the South. Active Athlete's Superstar celebrates everyone who embodies the resilience and ambition of the modern cowboy and cowgirl— people who push boundaries and explore new frontiers without ever forgetting the Lone Star state.

Although Active Athlete is a Texas institution through and through, campaign material for the "Lone Star Reppin'" collab expresses that you don't have to be from the state to embody its spirit.

The shoe itself features an off white, brown, and vibrant turquoise color scheme that features a number of embroidered details rooted in Western-wear styles. A boot-shaped hangtag arrives with the pair, while the Superstar's moniker is found between both shoes' Achilles' heel tabs. A custom belt-buckle dubrae, four interchangeable lace options, and cowhide-print insole round out the pair.

Active Athlete's Superstar releases in limited quantities on Saturday, March 7, at select Active Athlete stores and online via activeathlete88.com. The launch will be celebrated with in-store activations at the Cullen, Federal, and Wilcrest locations. A Lone Star Saloon pop-up will transform the Cullen Blvd flagship into a full western saloon experience on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Additional festivities include a Honky Tonk Night in collaboration with Her Grails and special appearances at the Houston Rodeo Cook-Off.
