Adidas is set to revive its iconic Artillery series with a fresh twist for the modern era.
Originally launched in 1991 and celebrated as one of the tallest high-top basketball shoes ever, the series returns with a brand-new iteration: the Artillery 24. This updated model transforms the classic into a sleek low-top, shedding its traditional ankle padding for a more contemporary silhouette.
Despite its reduced height, the Artillery 24 retains much of the original's character and design elements. It features ventilated stripes branding reminiscent of the Artillery Lite on both lateral and medial sides, while the heel showcases a Trefoil logo with embossed ribbing above. The materials blend nostalgia with modernity, employing leather predominantly across the upper with suede panels near the eyelets and around the quarter branding, enhancing the texture and depth of the design.
This particular colorway taps into a 1990s aesthetic. It features an aqua-colored heel that strikingly contrasts with an off-white, pre-aged midsole and matching laces, invoking a sense of vintage sports heritage.
Adidas has successfully transitioned other retro basketball models to lifestyle-oriented low-tops, such as the Forum Low, and the Artillery 24 is poised to follow in these successful footsteps.
The Adidas Artillery 24 has already been released in Europe, with a North American release expected to follow.
