Third time’s a charm.

adidas is not shy about reworking the icon that is the Crazy. The OGs debuted back in 97/98 as Kobe Bryant’s signature sneakers, but as is the trend for adidas over the past few years, it has been revised, reworked, tweaked and completely retooled. As a result, we’ve seen a handful of Crazy options — the BYW, the BYW II, the X (and the recently-revealed BYW X 2.0) — but now adidas have their third rendition of the BOOST-laden BYW sneaker primed and ready to rock; Introducing the adidas Crazy BYW III.

Big bulky BOOST continues to be at the forefront of the design, with the bulbous, protruding cushioning tech creating an alien-like appearance. Add to that laced piping, asymmetrical laces, and wavy overlays, and you’ve got yourself one hell of a Kang and Kodos-looking sneaker. But although the pair boasts a futuristic aesthetic, the materials remain classic — sans the BOOST tech, of course — with mesh, suede, and leather making up the majority of the sneaker.
