adidas Hoops “CNY” Collection Arrives on New Year’s Day

adidas Hoops has found a home in China, with the brand long considered to be the premier hardcourt operators. that’s thanks in part to a bevy of China-exclusives from marquee athletes in Derrick Rose (who they absolutely adore across the Pacific), James Harden, and Donovan Mitchell. Their annual Chinese New Year collection solidifies the bond between the brand and country and will continue to do so again in 2021. Though we’re still a few months off the Lunar New Year, next year’s adidas Basketball CNY pack is already starting to surface, with both the D Rose 11 and DON Issue 2 appearing today by-way-of official imagery.

Once again you can expect to see a comment theme used across the division’s signature sneakers (and likely marquee performance models) seen here sporting black based with vivid collage prints. The latter depicts traditional Chinese tokens represented in a modernized arrangement through colors of purple, orange, red, and black. Mitchell’s signature shoe shows accentuations of gold — a staple finish for any CNY colorway — while Derrick’s option opts for silver.

Though we’re still waiting on more options to come, including the Harden Vol. 5, you can take a look at the two that have leaked just here below, and expect to learn more on their release as we edge closer to Chinese New Year on February 12th.
