Damian Lillard has felt a lot of love this week. The Oakland, California native has returned home to appear in his ninth NBA All-Star Game, which takes place in San Francisco's Chase Center on Sunday, Feb. 16. Ahead of the occasion, Lillard released a number of special products with hometown retailer Shoe Palace and unveiled the Adidas Dame X with his Three Stripes family.
Long-rumored but kept under wraps over the last half-year, the Dame X marks Lillard's 10th signature sneaker with adidas. The silhouette was unveiled during the German sportswear brand's expansive All-Star Showcase, which also shared looks at Anthony Edwards' AE1 and the Fear of God Athletics Basketball II in new colors. Lillard's latest 3-Stripes-branded footwear couldn't debut at a better time. He has always proudly represented the Bay Area—and more specifically, Oakland—so to have his city as the backdrop to the unveiling of his 10th Adidas Basketball shoe is special.
The Adidas Dame X maintains a resemblance to its predecessor with a low-cut design aimed at enhancing agility and speed on the court. The sneaker features a lightweight textile upper for optimal breathability, supported by 3D-printed TPU accents that provide crucial zonal protection. These accents trace the length of the upper, forming a distinctive pattern that converges near the branded heel tab. An X appears on the middle of the tongue, denoting a decade of the Adidas Dame line.

Underfoot, the midsole is equipped with the Three Stripes' LIGHTSTRIKE cushioning, which Lillard has taken a liking to. A bottom-loaded, Y-shaped shank in the outsole ensures torsional stability, critical for quick directional changes during play.
"Dame X is a testament to staying true to yourself, showing up every day, and putting in the work no matter what," shared Lillard in an official press release for the sneaker. "It’s built for the next generation who are chasing their dreams with that same hunger. I wanted to create something that’s accessible, that performs at the highest level, and that feels real on the court and in life."
What's particular remarkable about Lillard's latest silhouette is that it's the first Adidas Basketball signature shoe under $100. The Dame X does not compromise on performance nor technology, boasting a bevy of components that've been put to the test by Lillard and other members of the Three Stripes family.
Pairs of the 'Dame's Light' colorway are set to release via Adidas.com on Thursday, July 3, for $90. Other inaugural looks include "Dolla Red," "Brookfield," and "Zero Metallic." Enjoy detailed photos of the Dame X ahead.
