Madness!
First appearing in March of 2018, the heavily banked-upon adidas Deerupt never quite lived up to the Three Stripes’ expectations. The brand had shortlisted the silhouette as one of this marquee releases for last season, but despite it’s historical relevance to the brand (It was inspired by the adidas Marathon, the very last shoe designed by the brand’s founder Adolf “Adi” Dassler), it failed to catch on. Perhaps because initial colorways were all too basic, andthe lackluster Dragon Ball Z collection didn’t help in raising its profile, either. But when bangers like this come out, it’s hard to ignore, because it demands your attention.
The upper is made of mesh — and then overlaid in mesh again, including the midsole — with its breathability and featherweight its main advantages. This pair, though, will simply take your breath away. Sporting an all-over spraypaint-like effect, it calls upon a patriotic blend of red, white and blue paired against black accents on the heel overlay, collar, laces, and sole unit. Completing the design are quick flashes of orange on the heel and tongue branding (if you can see it) as well as the medial midsole.
Love ’em? Pairs have dropped overseas and are available right now from the retailers listed below for £75, approximately $75-$80 USD.
