If 2020 had helped us gain any new skills during weeks of quarantines and months of lockdowns, it was how to be better gamers. The brand with the three stripes are looking to celebrate the gamers out there with a five-pack sporting digitalized motifs that will include the adidas NMD R1, ZX 2K BOOST, Ozweego, Stan Smith, and a Superstar.
Breaking down the incoming supply drop, firstly the almost triple black colorway of the adidas NMD R1 is constructed using a typical mesh and synthetic upper that contrasts beautifully with the green-to-blue gradient on the three stripes, green and blue midsole inserts, and blurred neon heel and medial line overlays. Completed with an all-black BOOST sole unit. Secondly, the predominately white silhouette of the adidas ZX 2K BOOST is comprised of using a combination of mesh, synthetics, and a “Collegiate Navy” leather heel overlay. In a similar fashion to its predecessor, the same blurred neon effect is showcased on the medial and heel, underfoot is an all-white BOOST midsole complete with a cloudy semi-translucent casing which reveals a green zig-zag pattern below, all of which is framed with a black rubber outsole.
Third up in this team deathmatch drop is the adidas Ozweego, the “Collegiate Navy” dressed upper is manufactured using a combo of mesh and nubuck. A green pinstripe can be seen weaving through the design from the laces and looping around the heel, as like the previous two we see the same neon aesthetics that are presented on the toe cap, medial, lace stays, and heel. Anchoring down the design is the black and white sole unit. The fourth release in this huge line up is the adidas Superstar, the “Cloudy White” all-Leather upper, “Chalk White” sole unit and shell toe provide the ultimate blank canvas for the remainder of the design. Unlike the more modernized trio in this pack, the more seasoned icons are treated with a retro throwback to gaming with a digitalized multicolored pixeled three stripes. Last but certainly not least is the adidas Stan Smith, much like the Superstar we’re presented with a cloudy white leather upper and a chalk-white sole unit. but where this pair differs is with an understated perforated three stripe and multicolored pixel heel overlay.
Noobs need not apply for this “Gaming Pack”, with pairs touching down on adidas.com come January 8th at 10 am ET. If you are planning on picking up a pair on the day, make sure that you head to our dedicated adidas Release Dates Calendar to set yourself a reminder for the release.
