adidas’ Marquee BOOST may be paving the way for future Trefoil performance hoop shoes, but its not forgetting the rich hardwood heritage of its forefather, the adidas Top Ten.
The infamous hoop shoe, a Detroit icon and now a streetwear staple, is celebrating the big 4-0 in 2019, and to celebrate, the Marquee BOOST is paying tribute to the Top Ten with its own version of the patriotic OG colorway. Combining a white base with navy and red accents around the collar makes the connection unmistakable. Commemorative detailing arrives via gold “40th Anniversary” text on the heel, a large “Designed In Brooklyn” stamp on the instep shouts out the OG and the bold navy Three Stripe branding harkens back to 1979’s original.
