We’re nearing the start of the biggest beer-bash in the world, and adidas is celebrating their national pride with a special two-pack of “Oktoberfest” München sneakers,
Since 1810, Munich (München) — the Bavarian capital – has hosted the largest folk festival in the world, and has transformed its local tradition to a global institution. Both renowned the world over, adidas pays tribute to the two-week-long celebration with two festival-themed München sneakers (what other silhouette would they use?!). Both pairs are dressed up in Lederhosen, the duo of adidas München Oktoberfest rock top-tier tooling; the “Night Brown” a dark, soft leather that draws inspiration from the tradianl garb, while the “Clay Brown” pair sports a supple light-brown suede that’s more aligned with the traditional Tyrolean hat seen on the heads of thousands of patrons at the festival. Fittingly, they both arrive with DPBR coatings for a puke/beer repellent upper — and trust me, if you’ve ever been to Oktoberfest, this is a must-have. Both pairs are overlayed with smooth tan leather on the crinkle-cut profile Three Stripes and heel overlays, the latter embroidered with traditional detail to match your festival attire, and the pairs are complete with low-key Prost (German for Cheers) lettering on the lateral.
