adidas has continually looked to its history for future inspiration, many of which arrive under the same name in completely new designs that utilize it’s namesake’s heritage. Options like the popular Nite Jogger and recently-revived Streetball come to mind, and in this instance, come together to forge the adidas Niteball. It saw a pretty solid debut back in mid-2020, but as the story goes for a lot of adidas’ new silhouettes, it failed to capitalize, once again seeing delays in follow-up releases, leaving it too long between drinks to ride the wave all the way to shore. Despite the waiting, the silhouette has put out some bangers, albeit few and far between. The next pair, which has already arrived at adidas locations in Asia is another that would have benefitted from a first wave push, but bangs nonetheless; the adidas Niteball “Big Logo”
The title is as obvious as the bold, all-caps ADIDAS lettering at the midsole in black, a logo that’s highlighted by a striking Solar Red framing. It’s met by Hazy Blue hits at the midsole, toe, liner, and rear bootie, all of which works into a predominantly white leather and mesh upper that results in an aesthetic often aligned with the 1990s. The pair comes complete with neutral suede wraps at the ankle, and the silhouette’s signature removable tongue patches, too.
