adidas has continued to revisit silhouettes past, many of which are completely new designs that utilize it’s namesake’s heritage like the ever-strong Nite Jogger and recently-revived Streetball. But whilst historically stem from vastly different beginnings, both of the modernized makes have linked up to form a brand new silhouette, the adidas Niteball.
Somewhat reminiscent of the Wave Runner or the similarly modified Ozweego, the new silhouette is still evident in its influence. The overall shape and low rise is consistent with the reimagined Nite Jogger, whilst similar aspects like plastic lateral/heel clips and reflective glaze overlays feature prominently. BOOST tech is removed in favor of hoop-friendly Lightstrike — a tech that was welcomed in on the Streetball — and includes elements consistent with the blacktop trainer, including like heel design, an abundance of leather and suede overlays, and organic shaping within the sole unit. Three Stripe logos take the form of oversized, heavy-duty webbing, working with the outsole’s Striping to provide the shoe’s only notable branding. Completing the design is a simplistic medallion motif on the tongue, graphic insoles and a multi-tread rubber outsole.
The two debut colorways arrive anchored in cream, one opting for a Summery accent pack of blue, aqua, orange and yellow, the other a more toned-down mix of navy, pastel pink and magenta, both of which are set to arrive on adidas.com on July 1st for $120 a pop. Grab an official look at both pairs here below, and if you’re felling this freshly-baked silhouette, make sure you hit our dedicated adidas Release Calendar to set yourself a reminder for the drop.
