The adidas NMD R1 Gets Technical

You can’t go wrong with the NMD. Even though it’s popularity has fallen by the wayside, its timeless design and BOOST-loaded comfort can’t be beaten for a comfortability and versatility as a go-to lifestyle staple. Because of its consistent high-demand, adidas has looked both near and far for new inspirations to reinvent the silhouette — and now it’s arrived with new influence: Technical Outerwear.

Following on from its debut in a ladies-exclusive “Desert Sand”rendition, comes a two-piece back of mens makeups; “Solar Red” and Black. Both pairs start out on a classic black rubber outsole/white BOOST midsole combo, with each pair’s thick woven upper arriving tonal with everything else up top, except the technical overlays. The white pair boasts bold Solar Red translucent, while the black pair opts for a barely-there Vapor Pink. Completing the design is tonal branding hits at the tongue, and “The Brand With the Three Stripes” ribbon heel pulls.

Take in an official look at both of the retooled pairs below, which have been earmarked for release on adidas.com on October 1st for $130 a pop.
