Since its founding in 1949, Adidas has had one goal: create change through sport. Although the German institution continues to push the boundaries of performance, it's also on a never-ending pursuit to improve athletes' lives outside of competition—be it before or after. To this end, the brand has developed numerous lounge-appropriate, recovery-oriented products, which now include Purechill.
Similar to the ultra-breathable, 3D-printed ClimaCool, Adidas Purechill is an all-new foam-injected recovery slip-on. Touted as the "ultimate recovery essential," the silhouette is built for providing comfort after training, a game, or simply an exhausting day. The single-piece, injected EVA construction delivers an ultra soft sensation under and around the foot. TPU molded 3-Stripes branding appears on the lateral side, injecting some structural support while doubling-down on the Purechill's bold design. The medial profile is free of branding, but includes perforations across the front-half to help with ventilation.
Underfoot, the lace-less model features rubber traction that runs the length of the outsole; it's more robust than initial editions of the aforementioned ClimaCool. A 3-Stripes emblem appears at the heel, nodding to the brand that continues to experiment with footwear styles for elite and everyday athletes—including Lionel Messi.
The Purechill debuts via Adidas.com on Saturday, Nov. 15, for $75. The silhouette is expected to launch in "Core Black/Carbon" and "Cloud White/Core Black" finishes, with more presentations landing throughout its first year. Check out some of the expected styles ahead.
