Today, Adidas operates across a plethora of sports and markets, but it continues to prioritize running in a similar fashion to its founder, Adolf Dassler, in 1949. Its Adizero franchise continues to help elite-level athletes set new records across numerous distances, while models like the all-new Response Pace deliver all-day comfort for those who might prefer walking over running.
Ultra-soft, highly-cushioned performance styles from the likes of Hoka, On, and Brooks have infiltrated the lifestyle space, winning over non-runners over the last handful of years. Nike's Vomero 18 and Vomero Premium showcase industry giants' need to respond to changing consumer trends, and the Adidas Response Pace is seemingly rooted in a similar analysis.
The brand's Response line dates back decades, and was at the forefront of the Three Stripes' chunky, retro runner range during the early 2020s; Bad Bunny even reworked the Response CL as part of his growing partnership with the German sportswear institution. In comparison, the newly-surfaced Response Pace abandons the highly-technical, stability-oriented elements seen on previous models in favor of a tried-and-proven formula that's worked out for designs like the ASICS GEL-NIMBUS® 28.

Adidas has been offering a number of comfortable running sneakers that double as everyday walking shoes, but none have taken off for the brand. The last time performance-informed designs built with a similar setup (breathable upper, plush midsole) gained popularity within the lifestyle space was the in mid-2010s with both the original UltraBOOST and NMD.
Official figures of the Response Pace's midsole stack height and heel-to-toe drop haven't surfaced as of yet, but a quick glance at the silhouette showcases ample Cloudfoam cushioning across the sole unit. The EVA foam is also found on other budget-friendly running shoes and Adilette Shower Slides. Reflective accents across the upper are rooted in performance, while different color palettes enable versatile fashion for those who care about looking good in their comfortable sneakers.
Enjoy an early-look at the Adidas Response Pace in its "Dark Shadow Grey/Silver Metallic/Beam Orange" color scheme ahead. A plethora of other colorways are expected to release via Adidas.com before the year ends. The new design is expected to retail between $100-$140.
