You’re not seeing double. Adidas is revisiting the pony-hair Samba once again this summer, bringing back a similar look to the pair that stirred interest earlier in the year. This upcoming version adheres closely to the formula but incorporates a few subtle adjustments to differentiate it from its predecessor.
Here, Adidas dress the Samba in a full black faux pony hair upper, contrasted by soft leather overlays at the toe, eyestay, and heel. While the last version featured golden hardware accents, this pair keeps it clean with standard punched eyelets, streamlining it for a more accessible in-line release. "Crew White" serrated Three Stripe branding and heel tabs add a stark vintage contrast to the otherwise tonal upper.
Underfoot, a gum sole completes the terrace-ready look, though this time around, the rubber appears slightly lighter and more translucent than the spring pair. This variation offers a softer finish to the otherwise bold upper, balancing the shoe’s mix of textures and tones.
While this pony hair Samba might look familiar, the blend of materials and toned-down details make this version a more understated take for those who missed the last one, or prefer a quieter flex. Expect the pair to release sometime this summer through adidas.com and select retailers.
