The grandaddy of modern footwear back! Inspiring the likes of such icons including the Superstar and Stan Smith silhouettes, just to name a few, the adidas Samba is no slouch in its own right. It has been the biggest-selling sneaker in adidas history and although we haven’t seen it for a minute, it still has a huge fan base in Europe and throughout South America.
Originally released in 1950 as an indoor soccer training shoe, this seven-decade-old silhouette has often stayed true to its roots, but it’s often sighted in some pretty audacious offerings. Case and point, this next-up two-pack of iridescent TPU-covered creps bring a whole new flavor to the heritage silhouette. Both anchored in traditional builds of smooth leather and suede toes, the pairs are then fitted with sweeping side overlays of the aforementioned TPU plastics. The same material can be found at the heel, while tongue insignia is finished in summery colors. The seasonal theme continues onto the sunny graphic insoles, funky Samba branding on the lateral, and semi-translucent outsoles underfoot.
