Adidas Applies 'Mystery Brown' Accents and Silver Beads to this Celebratory Samba LT

The Adidas Samba is the brand's longest continuously-produced product. Although the style is no longer the go-to option for indoor football, it continues to harken back to its sport origins with its gum bottoms, T toe, and long tongue (LT).

Wales Bonner and Pharrell Williams have been instrumental in the Samba LT's inclusion in fashion-forward circles. The former brand has utilized the silhouette to bridge the gap between Jamaica and England, two places near-and-dear to its founder. The latest pair from the Three Stripes resembles Wales Bonner's 'Mystery Brown' collaboration from November 2023, pairing 'Hemp/Off-White' tones with a classic gum brown outsole. Close inspection, however, reveals that the pair isn't a collab, but instead a commemorative style by the German sportswear juggernaut.

A wine-reminiscent hue animates the profile 3-Stripes, foldable tongue, and Achilles' heel panel. The branding on the sidewalls is accompanied by non-standard, bead-like charms that bring an elegant touch to the Samba. The trefoil logo on the long tongue also features a 'Silver Metallic' gloss that complements the shimmering decorations that outline it. Trefoil and Adidas text on the insole also partake in the thematic makeover. The brand hasn't disclosed any backstory to the special pair, but it's possible the style commemorates the Hindu festival of Holi, which takes place on March 14.
