People sleep on the Samba. Well, let me rephrase that — Americans sleep on the Samba. It’s been the biggest selling and one of the most influential sneakers of all time (you can read why it is right here) but it never really took off in the States as it did throughout Europe and South America. Perhaps because Soccer is not the sport of choice, but these days it’s a bonafide streetwear staple. The RM (remade) edition takes things up a notch, by adding in modern materials and technologies, as well as a slightly differing aesthetic. The ballistic nylon and suede upper rides on a responsive full-length BOOST midsole for endless energy, while raised sole units, modified tongues and heel overlays give the silhouette a more modernized aesthetic. This pair is said to be inspired by Miami’s bustling nightlife — and if you’ve ever been out in a SoFlo club in white kicks, they’d often come home looking as dark as this tonal beige upper. Real Purple is listed, but I can’t find it anywhere. The Hi-Res Aqua sole unit and branding hits are an obvious callout to the colorful city, with three white lines representing the Port of Miami’s finest product 😤
Pairs are available right now, right here from adidas.com for a cool $120.
