The adidas SL Andridge Pays Tribute to its Trefoil Roots

1972 was a significant year in sport, it was an Olympic year where the hallowed games were held in Munich but it was also where the adidas SL first made its appearance. SL (shorthand for Super Light) was built with the sole purpose of being fast and offer maximum traction but perhaps more compellingly it was also where the famed Trefoil logo made its first appearance, jump forward 48 years and it is now one of the most recognized symbols in the world today. Like most athletic shoes from yesteryear, the adidas SL is now being repurposed from the track to the street, with the latest retro-inspired pair taking shape in the form of the SL Andridge. Here, the unmissable upper is enveloped in a homage to the Trefoil, with an array of multicolored branding from the toe box to black heel. “Team Royal Blue” three stripes sit a top the collage, with a bounty of color pops finishing off the pair along with the sole unit, liners and even the exposed cushioning underfoot.

March 5th is the slated release date for this patchwork pair, with sizes ready to arrive right here on for $100.
