Last year’s announcement that Queen Bey and her IVY PARK label would be joining adidas was arguably the biggest sneaker signing since Kanye West — adidas or otherwise. And with equal — if not more — influence on the world than Ye, Beyoncé’s debut IVY PARK collaboration with adidas was a big one, and in it, it helped along with some lesser-loved silhouettes like the Forum and the Supersleek 72. With the former now gaining significant traction, it should come as no surprise that adidas has similar plans for the latter, too. And right on cue comes this new entry for Spring — the adidas Supersleek 72 “Ash Pearl”.
Arriving constructed mostly in soft suede of the titular hue, the pair then shifts to classic smooth white leather overlays at the Three Stripe and heel overlays for a heritage appeal. In contrast, an ultra-modern platform sole is decked out in a very traditional gum rubber, whilst some utilitarian flavor is added by-way-of midsole detail and tongue and rear pull in a vibrant Crew Orange to complete the design.
