Adidas Originals is honoring the city of Atlanta with its very own Superstar. Part of an ongoing commitment to and presence in Georgia's capital, the sneaker commemorates 404 Day, an all-day celebration of the city's figures, history, and culture that takes place on April 4.
In addition to naming a marathon racer from 1983 after it, the Three Stripes has continuously shown love to Atlanta. The Atlanta City Games hosts impressive athletes at Piedmont Park, while the MLS' Atlanta United FC constantly invites members of the community to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The latest ode to the South's cultural hub takes on similar colors as hometown sports teams—black and red—which accompanies the iconic shell-toe's direct nods to the city.
A reptilian pattern appears on the profile 3-Stripes. The glossy leather finish subtly interrupts the nubuck construction across the bulk of the upper. Typical Superstar text on the lateral profile takes on a classic "Gold Metallic" look, while the updated, peach-donning label on the tongue does the same. A special lace dubrae in the shape of shimmering grills (dental coverings made from metal or gems) also indulges in the golden update while delivering another through-line to Atlanta.
Achilles' heel panels revert to a snakeskin-inspired makeover, but opt for vibrant "Better Scarlet" flair instead of "Core Black." Traditional trefoil emblems are replaced with large ATL letters that honor the city's common abbreviation. Nearby, 404 Day! text references the annual celebration, which draws inspiration from Atlanta'a first area code. To see exactly what's going on during this year's event, visit 404day.com.

Firm Adidas.com release details haven't been disclosed by the brand as of writing, but that's expected to change soon given April 4's fast-approaching arrival. Pairs are likely to release in limited quantities throughout Atlanta on Friday before stock is sold online.
