London might not get the credit it deserves, but the city has been inspiring culture, fashion, and more for ages. Adidas Originals has long celebrated the English destination with special products and activations, and its set to honor its 1970s punk scene with a bold Superstar II.
Part of the shell-toe's 55th anniversary, the newly-surfaced pair features a "Better Scarlet/Core Black/Matte Gold" color scheme. And while the ruby flair demands attention, it shares the spotlight with the tartan print that takes over commemorative hangtags and the inner lining. The detail references a common element worn by punks to rebel against society-at-large in past decades. The pattern may not be in its heyday anymore, but its place in history has been well-documented over the years. The latest Adidas Superstar adds to that heritage.
Firm Adidas.com release details haven't been disclosed by the brand as of yet, but that's expected to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the "London" Superstars ahead.
