The adidas Superstar Appears in A Shimmering 'Preloved Purple' Makeover for Women

The adidas Superstar will be one of the brand's top priorities this year, appearing as part of high-profile collaborations and a varied mix of inline styles as well. The latter category has just received a 'Preloved Purple' option for women.

Far removed from its basketball origins, the Superstar has lived several lives since its debut in 1970. Recent history has seen the Three Stripes shift its focus on other adidas Originals offerings, but linkups with Minecraft, Wales Bonner, and Damian Lillard suggest the company is committed to celebrating the sneaker's 55th anniversary in style.

The latest Women's-exclusive Superstar features a glossy, almost-metallic finish across its upper. Most components across the top-half indulge in the titular purple tone, which might appear pink at certain angles. The classic shell-toe keeps things simple in 'Off-White,' as do the laces and midsole. Profile 3-Stripes and Achilles' heel panels deliver further contrast to the 'Preloved Purple' makeup in 'Core Black.' A light gum outsole rounds out the glossy style.
