adidas Ultra BOOST 20 Explorer is Reworked for Winter

Before adidas sets sail on its big booty Ultra BOOST 21, the brand will be delivering another alternate version of the 20 — this time configured for Winter wear.

Much like the SUMME.RDY 20 that appears this year, the adidas Ultra BOOST 20 Explorer is retooled for its respective season. And as you’d expect, it’s much more technical than its summer counterpart. Though it doesn’t offer up much in terms of water resistance (woven mesh uppers remain), it does tack on some extra durability through its use of sturdy forefoot and lateral overlays. The extended lacing system aids in lateral stability, too, as does the added-on traction by-way-of its new Continental Winter GRIP rubber outsole. Utilitarian pulls are positioned at the tongue and heel, and the pair is completed by metallic plate Three Stripe branding.

As of now, there are five debut colorways on the way, including (or favorite) White/Silver/Black, a YEEZY-like “Blink” option, a calming “Sky Tint”, an OFF-WHITE-like “Cardboard”, and a regal option in Black/Metallic Gold. A release date for the pairs has not yet been specified, though you should expect to learn more as we edge closer to the start of Winter.
