When adidas tacked on the DNA label to the Ultra BOOST a few years back, it was to determine an overarching class that encompassed the Three Stripe’s entire hertigae — not just that of the UB line. Since then, we’ve seen everything from ZX-inspired releases to pairs inspired by the EQT lineage. One thing the Ultra BOOST DNA line rarely touches on is the outdoor-specific lines, but the timing is right for the brand to deliver some — especially with the cross-category aesthetic championing rival silhouettes like the Nike SB Dunk Low and the Air Max 97.
Three colorways revealed today via adidas Australia all arrive in vastly different makes, though each brings a very familiar feel. Firstly, the “Wonder White” is a blatant rip-off of the OG Nike Air Mowabb, with cream uppers, blue and orange cage accents, and flecked black midsoles to boot. The second dubbed the “Sonic Ink” somewhat resembles the ACG Terra — a colorway recently seen on both the Nike SB Dunk and Air Max 97, whilst the third and final in “Grey Three” identifies nothing in particular, though it feels like we’ve seen it a million times before.
Grab an official look at the trio of outdoor-inspired Ultra BOOST options here below, and look for pairs to hit adidas AUon June 30th; expect an adidas US release to follow shortly thereafter.
