The release of the mythical adidas YEEZY 500 High has been rumored for a minute now — but with no concrete evidence to support the claims, it’s been one release that’s been kept of the radar amongst news sources. But today we not only get confirmation of its release — expected to arrive very, very soon — but also a very first look.

The debut pair of the YEEZY 500 High is said to be releasing in this black/navy/sail makeup dubbed “Slate”, a short stretch from the brand’s traditionally earthy palate. The pair tacks on a high-cut collar reminiscent of the Air Jordan 7, while and all-new textile underlay replaces the traditional wide-open woven mesh. The rest of the sneaker remains unchanged, but we do receive all-new color blocking, with underlays and overlays grouped into color blocks, while an all-sail outsole provides a bold stroke of contrast.
