If there was a talk about underappreciated sneakers in the market today, the ultra-comfortable adidas ZX 2K BOOST would be near the top of that list. Not only does the pair have a sleek modern aesthetic, and boast an upper of 50% recycled materials, its foot-hugging woven upper and BOOST-loaded midsole makes it one of the comfiest options on the market. You may not even have noticed that the silhouette has entered its second cycle, with the adidas ZX 2K BOOST 2.0 sneakily surfacing on adidas.com earlier this month. Though it sports a similar overall design, alterations to the rear clips, forefoot overlays, and midfoot shapes are noticeable. Sole units have shifted shape, too, but still captures the DNA of the original in uncanny fashion. One of the first colorways to appear is this all-new “Sonic Ink” effort, which, in essence, harkens back to the brand’s mainstay Reflective Xeno designs.

It channels the classic reflective render by anchoring the pair in all-black, before taking the colorful rainbow iridescent finish and making it visible under all light conditions — here on the lengthy heel-to-toe overlay. It works from the titular blue hue at the heel to baby pink at the toe, and is matched by a sherbert yellow saturation at the BOOST midsole and laces to complete the design.
