If we can say one thing about adidas over the past 4 or 5 years, its that they have not been afraid to try new things. Unfortunately, more often than not, it doesn’t quite come off (we’re looking at you, Deerupt!) Slowly but surely, though, the brand has been knocking out low-key banger after low-key banger, from the retooled Nite Joggerto the heavy-sleeper in the Ozweego. But while those designs edge on vintage inspiration — seemingly their direction for 2019 — their lineup for 2020 appears to be quite the opposite. Ultra-futuristic footwear is the brand’s next foray, with a slew of next-gen designs set for the year ahead. One that’s already garnering heavy interest from sneakerheads is this adidas ZX 4D Morph.
Like it’s ZX 4000 4D sister sneaker, it gets a little heavy-handed on the overlays, found here in leather, glaze, and reflective. Exaggerated Torsion heel locks protrude way aways from the sneaker’s body at the medial and lateral ankle, with the skeleton of the system also being visible through the outsole. Heel pulls arrive in-line with the brand’s NMD V2, and the pairs are capped off with vintage-styled tongues — a massive-but-subtle juxtaposition to the sneaker’s forward-thinking ethos.
The first looks below show two debut colorways, one in white/black and blue, the other in a combination of black, green and red, each sporting different woven uppers, and unique finishes to their 4D cushioning. A release date for the new adidas ZX 4D Morph silhouette has not yet been specified but from the looks of things, it appears that these may land at retailers for Spring/Summer 2020. As always, keep it locked on our Twitter Feed for any further updates
