The adidas ZX 600 is the latest silhouette to join the brand's heritage-focused efforts.
A relic from 1986, the ZX 600 debuted as a running model from the Three Stripes. Throughout its original run, the silhouette beccme a go-to option for different subcultures across the globe – including acid-house aficionados throughout Great Britain. The old school model has come and gone on various occasions, with follow-up designs in the adidas ZX series becoming icons of their own, but it now seems positioned to stay for a while.
Previously the focus of a collaboration between size? and adidas Originals, the ZX 600 has recently surfaced in two color schemes that harken back to '86. 'Dash Grey' and 'Carbon' finishes take over most of the new duo's uppers. Hits of 'Silver Metallic' and other retro tones come together to create versatile looks in old school packages. Yellow and deep red accents deviate from their understated surroundings, nodding to the Three Stripes' running heritage.
Reflective details, stability clips around the heel, and the rugged outsole underfoot reprise their traditional roles to deliver a nostalgic product for longtime and new fans of the 39-year-old adidas model. High-profile collaborations and updated takes with new materials could form part of the ZX 600's latest retro run.
