Anthony Edwards’ next adidas chapter is stretching well beyond the hardwood. While the AE 2 remains one of the most anticipated performance sneakers on the calendar, the Anthony Edwards x adidas Superstar Collection shows the Timberwolves star taking a much louder swing at lifestyle footwear.

What initially looked like a tighter three-pair capsule has now expanded into seven wildly different takes on the shell-toe classic, with each pair pushing the Superstar into a different lane. Some lean flashy, some feel almost alien, and others stick closer to retro adidas energy — but none of them feel like a standard athlete lifestyle release.

The first group sets the tone with high-gloss and textured finishes. One pair arrives in metallic silver with a pebble-like pattern across the upper, finished with black Three Stripes, a black shell toe, and purple heel accents. Another flips into a darker iridescent build, pairing purple stripes and laces with a soft pink shell toe and sole. A third option lands in a copper-gold finish with cream detailing and neon yellow laces, giving the Superstar one of its loudest executions in the set.

The collection then branches into softer and more playful territory. A sky-blue leather pair keeps things cleaner with chrome Three Stripes, white laces, and a matching blue sole, while a green metallic colorway adds cream accents and a custom hangtag. Two darker pairs round out the set, including a black glitter-covered version and a black faux-croc style with subtle green and purple hits.

Across the Anthony Edwards x adidas Superstar Collection, the familiar shell toe remains intact, but the materials do most of the talking. It is a pretty sharp pivot from Edwards’ on-court line, showing adidas is not just using the Superstar as a casual add-on, but as another way to build out Ant’s personality away from basketball.

This off-court capsule delivers contrasting concepts. The first pair arrives with a shimmering, iridescent glitter finish across its upper, giving the classic shell-toe a bold, eye-catching refresh. The second adopts a more textured look, dressing its panels in faux crocodile skin with vibrant colored accents that shift from green to blue. A third option sees high-quality leather uppers reimagined in a gradient patterned finish that brings green into the mix. All pairs retain the Superstar’s timeless toe cap and Three Stripes detailing, while a custom metallic hangtag adds a signature touch.

At this stage, only CAD renderings of the two dark-colored Superstars are available; final retail editions may feature slight adjustments in materials or finishes. Still, the early look suggests a distinct personality in each design, signaling Edwards’ interest in branching his footwear portfolio beyond the hardwood.
