Japan's atmos continues to breathe new life into the storied Adidas Originals roster. Its latest effort takes the form of a GORE-TEX-protected Superstar 82.
No stranger to the silhouette, the Tokyo-based team has kept things visually simple on its next project with the Three Stripes. A "Footwear White/Core Black/Core White" color scheme takes over the "shell-toe," resembling pairs from 55 years ago. What's special about the atmos Superstar 82, however, is that the build mimics would would've been available in the early 1980s, delivering an elevated product than modern editions of the shoe. Furthermore, profile 3-Stripes and Achilles' heel panels opt for a scale finish that further injects a premium element into the silhouette.
The faux-aged sneaker feature GORE-TEX protection, as denoted by the large golden branding on the lateral heel. This inclusion enables a water-repellency that makes the shell-toe a viable year-round footwear choice. Inside, a Designed in Tokyo tag speaks to the project's special nature.
Enjoy official photos of the next Superstar 82 ahead. Pairs could release exclusively via atmos channels in the first-half of 2026.
