Although NIGO is no longer at the helm of BAPE®, the Tokyo-founded streetwear imprint continues to deliver a healthy, well-received mix of heritage and modern products. Its Adidas Originals partnership spans more than 20 years and has produced a number of important collaborations during that timeframe. Ahead of fall, the duo is expected to launch two Samba projects clad in classic white and black colors.
Earlier in the week, photos of samples of an unreleased BAPE® x Adidas collection for the 2026 FIFA World Cup surfaced, offering a preview of what the longtime partners are working on as the global football tournament returns to North American soil. Said range is expected to include a white-and-green-colored pair of the Adidas Samba. Akin to the newly-surfaced duo, the commemorative style dons a rubber T-toe at the forefoot, STA™ logos on the lateral profile, and golden A BATHING APE® branding. It's unclear whether or not the white, black, and gum-clad Sambas form part of the Spring 2026 collection, but what's certain is that the football influence is strong with the latest pairs.
BAPE® is no stranger to the expansive Originals catalog, but its next interpretation of the Three Stripes' iconic silhouette abandons any ABC camouflage found on previous linkups. Instead, "Core Black/Footwear White/Gum" divvy up real estate across the impending styles, inverting its blocking between both pairs.
Enjoy official photos of the special collaboration ahead. An Adidas.com launch should take place by the holiday season, acting as a precursor to next year's bigger drop.
