BSTN Taps Alessandro Del Piero for "O.G. with A Twist" Adidas Originals Collab

German-founded boutique BSTN continues to collaborate with Adidas Originals to deliver elevated, story-driven products. For their latest linkup, the duo present the "O.G. with A Twist" Handball Spezial project with the help of Italy's legendary Alessandro Del Piero.

The 50-year-old former footballer still represents the Three Stripes, having recently appeared in campaign materials for his first club's, Juventus, Third Jersey. His appearance in BSTN's latest project plays into the idea that the impending Adidas Handball Spezial combines original design cues with all-new elements for a result that pushes the boundaries just as the famous number 10 did throughout his professional career. Furthermore, his love of basketball make him a perfect fit for BSTN's editorial given the boutique's ongoing celebration of Europe's hoops heritage.

The silhouette maintains its overall shape, but opts for a full-leather build that incorporates experimental panels throughout the upper. Premium materials and bespoke curved overlays come together across two pairs that see white and black divvy up most real estate. The duo is intentionally developed with a clean aesthetic, harkening back to the collab's title and drawing inspiration from the subtle elegance associated with Italy. A custom woven, capsule-specific label appears on the tongue, referencing Mediterranean waters. Footbeds and packaging feature a unique logo created by BSTN family-friend Theodoros Giannitsacis.
