He’s Back.
Derrick is on the comeback.
A day after it was announced that he’s currently second in Western Conference All-Star voting, Derrick Rose took the the court in his latest signature sneaker — one which was rumored not to happen, according to some people in the know, even though he signed a 13-year contract extension with adidas back in 2012.
Reports from early last year implied that the then fallen star would not be getting a tenth signature sneaker from the Three Stripes, but in true Rose fashion, he has defied everyone who ever doubted him.
Before last night’s game against the Orlando Magic, the former MVP was spotted putting up shots in an all-black colorway of his next DRose signature sneaker. From these looks provided by Getty, the model appears to be a celebration of the decade-long line, incorporating elements from all 9 sneakers that preceded. Derrick’s Rose logo features prominently on the tongues, with adi’s Three Stripes hitting the heels.
With this sneaker, Derrick becomes only the 8th NBA player in history to have released ten consecutive signature sneakers with the same brand. it’s also worth noting that adidas plan to begin retros of DRose models this year, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
