Carrying on traditions, adidas will retool their marquee runner for the treacherous Fall and Winter weather, this year delivering the heavy-duty adidas Ultra BOOST 21 COLD.RDY — but that won’t be the only overhaul the silhouette sees, with industrial fabricators GORE-TEX also getting to put their spin on the UB2.

The technical overhaul is clad in lightweight water-resistant textiles, with added protection at the guards, midfoot, and toe. There’s a slew of added utilitarian features, including midfoot zips, heel pulls, and toggle laces for accessibility, as well as a peppering of hi-vis neon green for visibility. There’s modifications to the outsole, too, with a rugged Continental WinterGRIP tooling beneath. The mostly black-based sneaker is hit with few accents; the aforementioned neons are complimented by a solitary white toe and metallic ash green midsole to complete the design.
