After finally coming good on its Nike Air Presto promise, Japan’s favorite female feline is back with another footwear collaboration: the Hello Kitty x adidas Stan Smith

A cultural icon that originated in Japan in 1974, the famous car created by the company Sanrio is a merchandising machine. Despite the over-commercialism of the cat, Hello Kitty remains an enduring symbol of cute and kawaii culture in Japan — and widely loved worldwide.

She’s no stranger to adidas, either, with several sneakers in the cats’ back catalog. Next, it’s a new Stan Smith, with a simple white leather construct, fluffy heel overlays, and a plush kitty head on the laces. “Hello Kitty and Friends” lettering is installed on the profile wall, with special graphic liners and insoles rounding out the design.
