Basic, bitch.
For their new Deerupt line, the Deerupt S, adidas are taking it slow by introducing it to the market in palatable color palates, with the first two pairs to arrive rocking monochromatic black and white. The first to surface arrived in white with black, with their next-up flipping the colorway to black.
Featuring a layered mesh upper and textured like its predecessor, the similarities between the original and the Deerupt S start and end there. They’re using the sneaker as a platform to celebrate some of the most iconic adidas silhouettes from yesteryear, as well as in-trend silhouettes of today. Taped detailing on the upper takes the same shape as the mudguard from the evergreen adidas Ultra Tech, as well as bunched laces that drop directly into the heel/midfoot a-la Pharrell‘s NMD Hu.
After it’s predecessor’s shaky start, we’ll be intrigued to see if the Deerupt S can make greater waves — and colorways like the two debuts are showing that the Deerupt S is getting off on the right foot.
This Black/White Deerupt S releases on February 28th at the select retailers listed below for 110 USD.
