Adidas is set to release a special edition ZX8000 in collaboration with Berlin-based sneaker shop Overkill, timed perfectly with Germany's hosting of the 2024 European Football Championship.
Dubbed "Heimspiel" or "home game," the sneaker celebrates Germany's role as the epicenter of this major sporting event, the largest since the 2006 FIFA World Cup, which was also hosted in the European country.
The Overkill x Adidas ZX8000 "Heimspiel" design pays homage to German national colors, featuring black, yellow, and red stripes prominently against a clean white base, reminiscent of iconic German football kits. Overkill branding is strategically placed on the proper tongue and mudguard, both rendered in black to harmonize with the shoe's other accent details. Unique green and light blue insoles draw inspiration from Berlin's Olympiastadion, the venue for the championship match on July 14th, 2024, adding a layer of local tribute to the design.
This exclusive release will be available starting June 8th only at overkillshop.com, offering fans and collectors a piece of German sports history encapsulated in a sneaker.
