Patrick Mahomes and his Adidas U.S. Football family couldn't beat the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LIX to achieve a historic three-peat, but they're heading into the 2025 NFL season with a vengeance. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback kicks off his 18-week run against the Los Angeles Chargers with a special game hosted in Brazil.
Ahead of the occasion, Mahomes featured in an ad narrated by Brazilan footballing legend and longtime Adidas athlete, Kaká.
The Chiefs-Chargers matchup is the latest example of the National Football League expanding beyond the United States of America. Mahomes and company's first showdown of the 2025 season is sure to be a good one, something the three-time Super Bowl winner has proven time after time.
Throughout the season, Mahomes is expected to wear special edition cleats by Adidas, further promoting the brand's growing U.S. Football business. Other NFL players like the New York Jets' Garrett Wilson, Detroit Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Green Bay Packers' Micah Parsons are also slated to represent the Three Stripes on the NFL gridiron between now and February 2026.
Over the last eight months, Adidas has highlighted Travis Hunter in a number of campaigns, showcasing its big bold bet on the rising star's talent. The former University of Colorado Boulder star is set to debut for the Jacksonville Jaguars in a face-off against the Carolina Panthers.
Ahead of the occasion, the Three Stripes launched an ad as part of its ongoing You Got This series, starring Hunter and Trevor Lawrence. The video is inspired by the 1984 film Footloose.
Regardless of your team allegiance, it's clear Adidas is ready to dominate the NFL. Mahomes has already proven himself for the task, but his star-studded roster of brandmates will certainly help the Three Stripes in its mission. All stories will be documented via the @adidasusfootball Instagram account.
The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Chargers today, Sept. 5. More games will take place on Sunday, Sept. 7, as Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season continues.
