Pharrell’s NMD Hu has enjoyed a second wind of popularity over the past 12 months, with a return to regional and event-exclusive releases, alongside a handful of collaborations with BBC, thrusting new life into the silhouette. Though this next one we’re not quite sure about — a Kraven the Hunter-like mix of orange animal prints that, when paired with striking green laces, looks a little more like Fred Flinstone’s footwear of choice — if he wore shoes, that is.
Uppers of orange Primeknit come popped with cheetah-like sports, with blended midsoles, and red trim sandwiching the sock. Caging and rear clips arrive in stone age greys, with the aforementioned green laces looking like Fred’s juxtaposed necktie. All of this rests atop a simple black rubber outsole.
Though a release for this Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu “Animal” was not yet noted, on-foot looks and product pages loaded on adidas sites globally do suggest that a release is imminent.
