Pharrell Williams might be the busiest man at Paris Fashion Week. In addition to previewing all-new Louis Vuitton product developed alongside NIGO, the Virginia-native unveiled the Adidas Jellyfish, his latest silhouette for the Three Stripes.
Williams has been one of the German sportswear brand's biggest collaborators since joining in 2014. Over the last decade, the multi-hyphenate has had a hand in the success of various Adidas Originals models–including the Stan Smith and Superstar. Along the way, he's also designed a number of new silhouettes under the Hu banner. The Jellyfish is the latest addition to his extensive collaborative catalog.
Over the last year, Pharrell Williams has appeared in photoshoots and on television wearing bootcut denim. The style of jeans has been inspired by cowboys and falls in line with much of the work he's done for Louis Vuitton. But the denim hasn't allowed for the public to get a good grasp of the footwear he's been rocking–which turns out, has been the unreleased Adidas Jellyfish.
The shoes were shared with members of the press during PFW (including Complex), but Williams also wore a pair on the runway. It's impossible to ignore similarities between the collaborative project and other retro runners in the Adidas catalog–most notably the Response CL. The model's general shape and design language is rooted in the Three Stripes' archives, but the Pharrell Williams touch arrives via the materials used and direct callbacks to his story. Plastic panels across the upper resemble an exoskeleton. A playful 'Jellyfish' wordmark lands on the top of the tongue and insole. The sneaker's off-white and orange color palette keeps things light, hinting at a possible Summer 2025 release.
Neither Williams nor Adidas have confirmed proper release details for their new silhouette, but the shoe should debut via the CONFIRMED app sometime by July. Pricing should be close to the $180 mark, but that's subject to change.
