Pharrell Williams’ VIRGINIA Adistar Jellyfish is officially set for its widest release yet, with both the "Royal Blue" and "Triple Black" colorways arriving globally next month. After a series of limited cultural activations and boutique launches throughout 2025, the silhouette will finally become widely available on February 21 via adidas and select retailers.

Built on the foundation of the 2005 Adistar Cushion 3, Pharrell’s VIRGINIA Adistar Jellyfish transforms a technical runner into something far more sculptural. The exaggerated, wave-like midsole — inspired by the floating gills of a jellyfish — defines the shoe’s stance, while layered mesh uppers and an exoskeletal cage structure create depth and movement. adiPRENE cushioning reprises its original performance role underfoot, grounding the avant-garde upper in familiar adidas running heritage.

The "Triple Black" edition keeps things stealth, pairing tonal mesh with reflective rope laces and glow-in-the-dark detailing embedded within the layered build. It was first teased in New York through an exclusive Billionaire Boys Club release before earning broader recognition following the model’s Footwear News 2025 Shoe of the Year nod.

The "Royal Blue" colorway, first revealed during high-profile cultural moments in 2025 and later released in limited fashion in Las Vegas, takes a brighter route. A vivid blue upper sits atop the same dramatic tooling, emphasizing the silhouette’s dimensional lines and marine inspiration.

The VIRGINIA Adistar Jellyfish has quietly become one of adidas Originals’ most conversation-driving projects in recent memory. Rather than chase minimalism, Pharrell doubled down on proportion and personality — and the market has responded.
