When Prada and adidas debuted their Luna Rossa 21 in early December 2020, it arrived with very mixed reviews. There are those who welcome high-end brands into the sneakersphere, and there are those who believe that fashion houses are highjacking streetwear. There were also those (many, in fact) who scoffed at the ludicrous $700 price tag — especially for something like these moon shoes below. Despite the overall eels, the sneakers sold out (of course) indicating that there is a market segment out there still interested. To carry the torch for those few, adidas and Prada will carry on the Luna Rossa 21 into the new year with a sophomore colorway in space grey.
Akin to its debut drop, the forthcoming pair again indulges in a tonal arrangement throughout its semi-translucent, partly sustainable PRIMEGREEN construction. The model’s technical specs appear more pronounced on the follow-up style given the penchant for more contrast between grey shades. Its speed-lacing systems, breathable and water-resistant paneling, and Continental rubber tooling all appear much more prominently than before — all of which, though, is overshadowed by the Italian fashion label’s iconic red Luna Rossa logo running up the heel.
