Following on from yesterday’s preview of Raf Simons’ adidas Samba Stan Smith and adidas Peach Stan Smith comes the unveiling of the entire collection of five pairs, which all debuted earlier this year at Paris Fashion Week,

Inspired by the Tromp-l’oeil (French for “deceive the eye”) painting technique, legendary designer Raf Simons has chosen five silhouettes from the adidas archives — the Micropacer, the LA Trainer, the Torsion Conquest Super, the Samba, and the Peachtree — and superimposing them over the iconic Stan Smith through a 3D modeling process. Each pair also features worn-in distresses like stain, scuffs, tears and even exposed glues. These unique details aim to bring the past together with the present and make for an artistic fusion of styles that challenges the observer to spot where one design ends and the other begins. Combining soccer and running with the Stan Smith’s tennis background has resulted in one of Simons’ most unusual adidas collaborations to date (and boy, there’s been a lot of strange ones.) Each shoe is then also accompanied by a matching adilette sandal.

This Raf Simons adidas Stan Smith collection begins to roll out on April 12th with the accompanying adilettes trailing a few days behind on April 17th. More releases continue into May, the dates for those pairs are still TBA. Each Stan Smith will be retailing for an inflated $280 come release day — so start saving your pennies!
