Rick Owens Leads adidas’ Springblade Comeback
The adidas Springblade is making its way back, and Rick Owens is helping usher in its return with a new collection expected for Holiday 2026.
Leading the project are two Rick Owens x adidas Springblade Runners, both built around the model’s unmistakable blade-style cushioning system. The colorways arrive in Core Black and Light Brown, with each pair essentially reversing the placement of the two shades across the upper, Three Stripes and tooling.
The low-top keeps things relatively stripped back above the exaggerated sole, pairing a streamlined mesh build with leather overlays and oversized adidas branding along the sides. Underfoot, the individual Springblade elements extend from heel to toe, bringing back one of adidas’ more recognizable performance designs from the 2010s.
Rick Owens is also taking the silhouette in a more dramatic direction with a matching Springblade Boot. The higher-cut design extends well above the ankle with a gathered textile upper, while the same blade-heavy tooling sits underneath to tie it back to the runners.
The three-pair collection is expected to arrive during Holiday 2026, positioning Rick Owens as one of the first collaborators to bring the Springblade back into focus. More widespread Springblade releases are expected to follow as adidas continues the model’s return.
Exact release dates and pricing have yet to be announced.
