Adidas Brings the ZX 8000 to the Golf Course with Gore-Tex Upgrade

Sean Wotherspoon has expanded his horizons in 2020, branching out into a duo of footwear collaborations with atmos and ASICS, and more recently, his adidas Superstar. Originally presumed to be exclusive to the latter model, it now appears that Sean’s vegan-based SUPER EARTH thematic will play part of a series of sneakers (and likely apparel) with the revelation of an upcoming effort on the storied ZX range. This just-leaked Sean Wotherspoon x adidas ZX 8000 is likely to form part of the current A-ZX collection — presumably “W” — and although it shares the same title and earth-friendly components, it appears to differ significantly in aesthetic.
Leaked earlier today, the shoe still shows similarities, including the same co-branded logo lock-up accents the heel, bearing Wotherspoon’s initials in neon embroidery atop a rich royal blue SUPER EARTH motif. That loose-hanging thread reappears, although it appears to be encased in the translucent heel counter. Beneath all of that is a crimson red canvas working in tandem with the plaid and ecru panels adjacent.
Update 11.28.20 Sean Wotherspoon has himself teased a fresh set of images for the release, showing off the pair’s finer details like the use of thick canvas overlays, a colorful collage of embroidered Trefoils, and a recycled rubber sole unit.
